Dog of the Week
Darling three year old Casey came to us as a stray with a serious injury to her left rear leg. Hard to imagine this tiny gal wondering the streets scared and in pain. X-rays and several vet consults determined that the only course of action was to amputate the leg. This spirited and loving dog was up and getting around on three legs in no time...it has not slowed her down a bit. Timid with strangers, she does warm up quickly once she feels safe. Quite submissive, Casey will roll over to show you her cute belly. A favorite of both staff and volunteers, she will win over the heart of anyone she has the chance to meet. Not much for playing with toys, Casey would rather cuddle and give kisses. She does well with other dogs and does not mind cats either. Any other potential doggy sibling would need to meet Casey to be sure that they were compatible and not overly energetic for her. We are asking that any children in the home be over the age of eight due to her shyness and minor affliction. Please stop by the shelter to meet this incredibly sweet and endearing little lady. For more information on Casey, or any of our other animals, please give us a call at 847.697.2880 ext. 28.

Cat of the Week
Oh, what a character six year old Milhouse is! He hangs out with the other cats in our open cat room and fancies himself to be the king. A softie who loves a good cuddle and a belly rub, Milhouse will make a wonderful companion. We are recommending a home without children as he prefers to hang with adults. All that he really wants is a nice lap to lay in and to just hang out and watch some TV..."Animal Planet" will do nicely. If you've got a fun household with lots of toys and windows to look out of, Milhouse might be your guy! All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. For more information on Milhouse, or any of our other animals, please give us a call at 847.697.2880 ext. 28.
